Previously recorded workshop now available to take at the perfect time for you.
In the first few weeks after birth, many birthing parents are eager to begin the rehabilitation process. Pregnancy and birth, whether vaginal or cesarean, have massive impacts on the body and it can be really hard to know exactly what to do to start your postpartum healing journey. In this workshop, Sonia Reiter, pelvic floor therapist, will guide you through the simple ways that you can begin caring for yourself and your body immediately following childbirth. There will be some gentle movement and breathwork in this workshop so wear comfortable clothes.
Topics will include:
What to expect and how to care for the perineum and vagina and/or cesarean scar post birth including managing hygiene, sitting, and that scary first poop
What are appropriate exercises for this time period
How to protect the back and body during the repetitive tasks of early parenthood including nursing/feeding, diaper changes, rocking, carrying etc
The important role of nutrition and diet in the body's recovery
Tools for managing the psychological implications of this tremendous transition into a new role
